The 'Car free day' campaign that I worked on for Greenpeace and Leo Burnett Hong Kong won some awards at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The campaign won 3 awards: 1 gold press lion in newspaper and magazine/fundraising & appeals category, 1 silver press lion in newspaper and magazine/illustration category, and 1 bronze outdoor lion in billboards & street furniture/fundraising & appeals category.

I met up with Brian Ma, the Art Director on the campaign, for lunch in Borough Market and took some snaps before the award was taken back to Hong Kong.

My Lumberjack animation has been selected - along with other pieces of video, to be screened around Santander in Spain. It will appear on digital screens on Santander's Bus Network from 16th June for two weeks. "We like Santander" is an event organized by Foconorte Foundation and sponsored by Creative Santander.

I have been working hard on illustrations promoting a car free day organised by Greenpeace China. I drew three sets of tire tracks for the project and there is a story contained in each of them. The day will be held on 22nd of September and tries to encourage people to stop using their cars so much and use public transport, cycle or walk. I recently completed this drawing for Adam Hayes' Make maps project, that you can read about and see some beautifully illustrated maps at www.make-maps.blogspot.com. My map is the place where I had the most fun I have ever had. Kind of a place where I felt I belonged when I was young.

Pirates Deep

When I was 5 years old there was only one place to have your birthday, it was called Pirates Deep, an indoor Pirate themed adventure play centre underneath one of the arches on Brighton seafront. It was a childs paradise of ball pits, nets, slides, inflatable characters, obstacles, bouncy things, ropes, tunnels and padded Velcro shapes. Looking back it seemed like it was invented before health and safety, as there didn't appear to be any rules you could really just go mental. It isn't there anymore.

I have been working on a new print inspired by nature documentaries and comic books. The print is of a detailed rainforest scene with lots of animals that are partly factual and partly made up, the idea is to explore the scene and see what creatures you can find. I was commissioned by Chronicle Books in San Francisco to illustrate 'What's my pee telling me?' a handy sized book written by Josh Richman and Anish Sheth which is overflowing with information about wee, poo and farts.

It's good to know those early years of drawing with a brown wax crayon when I was five eventually paid off! Personal favourites include the 'Never-ending wipe poo', 'Why can't men pee straight?' and the famous 'Silent but deadly'.

I am excited to announce that the first in the series of Dragon prints are available to buy.

The series of dragons are based on the elements Air, Fire, Earth and Water and the mystic of legend. The first in the series is a Cloud Dragon, a 2 colour screenprint in metallic Gold and Silver on 270gsm White Colorplan. The prints are B2 size (500mm x 707mm), perfect size to be framed and put on your wall and are individually signed and numbered by me.

Nokia Eco Film

I worked hard last year producing drawings for an animated film for Nokia commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy. The animation illustrates Nokia environmental initiatives and it was great to get a chance to work with animation director Steve Scott and a team of talented animators at Not To Scale who brought my drawings to life. Lots of the animation was hand-drawn frame by frame and there's a great 3D shot moving through buildings at the beginning. Look closely and you should see new bits of detail each time you watch it - an Inuit on a pogo stick, a squirrel in a hard hat operating heavy machinery and a monkey up a lamppost! Towards the end of last year I was working on illustrations for promotional work for the new Ford Ka commissioned by Wunderman. I produced illustrations for a postcard with die-cut Ford Ka's that pop up. The postcard was as a teaser to an A2 map I illustrated and also did a few sketchy illustrations used on the back of the map. You can see the map on the new Ford Ka website where it's used as a background you can scroll around.

I am proud to be exhibiting alongside DRAW the largest contemporary drawing exhibition to emerge out of New York. The exhibition (a tribute to the art of drawing) features original drawings, sketches and doodles by 300 artists from around the world. It kicks off in London at StolenSpace gallery from 6th-23rd March 2008 and will continue on a six-country world tour that includes showings in Tokyo, Berlin, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

I have a new drawing I drew especially for the show (there's only one copy!) that I did using black & red pens, pencil and markers on nice art paper.

The Festivity

I am excited to announce that I am taking part in a group illustration exhibition titled... The Festivity. It's at the 'Hat on wall' bar & gallery, 24-28 Hatton Wall, London, EC1. The private view kicks off on the 7th of September and the exhibition is on for 3 weeks. Bring your glow sticks and your wellies. The Exhibition also features work from Andy Forshaw and Danny Sturgess.
